Have you ever wanted to know how professional artists develop their ideas?

“THE PAINTING PROCESS” breaks down every step to improve your understanding of each aspect;

  • Using drawing to discover ideas.
  • Planning paintings in a way which suits your temperament and keeps you engaged.
  • Creating tonal structure.
  • Effective colour strategies.
  • The dreaded Composition!
  • Making changes.

This is an ALL-ABILITIES class. Whether you’re a successful professional or an absolute novice, you will find the course both challenging and inspirational.

Artists will be working with their own materials. Easels are provided for those who don’t have their own.

Please note: On Saturday 5th Oct we will be making an optional art trip to London for inspiration. Upon enrolling, if you wish to join us, it’s advised that you book a train / gallery entry sooner rather than later.

Train tickets are about £72 return at the moment.

I am planning to travel on the 7.00am train from Preston to Euston, arriving at 9.14am

Return train at 17.30, getting back into Preston at 19.39

I will be booking to see the Van Gogh – Poets and Lovers at the National Gallery. You can book timed tickets on the National Gallery website. This is optional (tickets are £28 without donation). I suggest booking an early time slot – aim for 10am but if they are sold out then any time up to 11am.
